One of the coolest new trends in cosmetic surgery field in Singapore is resurgence of non-invasive skin tightening and lifting. This is done via a device that is used on the market called ultherapy, which is an ultrasound wave to penetrate through the layers of skin (the deep portion of the dermis) and cause tightening.
What it does is, it actually causes some damage of the dermis and in doing so, as the dermis repairs itself, collagen will be laid down, more collagen is generated. Ultherapy or sometime known as ulthera is FDA approved to treat the eyebrows, the neck and the upper chest. It can help with the wrinkling of the upper chest, the loosening of the neck and also the brows.
As we age, the eyebrows drop, so a technique like this that can help firming and tightening the skin, can help elevate the eyebrow, the upper eyelid and what this does is that, it allows the eye to have like a more open appearance and has more youthful look. The same thing with the neck, it helps tighten the neck to get rid of those jowls.
Here’s a picture of a before-and-aftermath, you can do some tightening in the area. The jaw-line itself is more well-defined and then it gives you a more youthful appearance. This is a before-and-after of the eyes, you can see how open the eye is and it’s also a more youthful appearance. These results can vary depending on who’s doing the procedure and also from person to person.
52 Year Old Female (Before/After) – 4 Months
This is a 52-year-old female (image above) and she is a post ultherapy. There you can see, that she has a significant amount of tightening along the jawline, she’s got improvement in her middle neck lines, as well as a nasal labial folds, with simple ultherapy. There are no fillers done on this patient between the before-and-after photos.
This second patient is also before and after ultherapy (image above) and you can see on her, she had also got a significant amount of improvement, especially along the jawline and within her neck folds. Less in the upper face, I think that’s possibly because she might be needing an eye lift procedure and again, remember ultherapy and non-invasive skin-tightening, does not replace a facelift, if a facelift is necessary.
This third patient (image above), is actually a patient who had a facelift done 11 years ago, so she’s a little older and you can see the amazing results she got. This is after two treatments with ultherapy, they were space six months apart and this is her 12 months later. You can see that she got significant improvement around her eyes especially but also along the jawline and the nasolabial folds.
So, ultherapy works by shooting ultrasound waves through the top layers of the skin, it completely skipped the top layers of the skin and shoot the ultrasound waves down onto the fascia and then also into the deeper layers of the tissues. Over about a three to six-month period of time, you’ll notice remarkable improvement in the skin tightening improvement, collagen and just an uplift.
